Fr. Chad Ripperger — Colorado Exorcist Testimony
The story in one line
Father Chad Ripperger has publicly described real cases of demonic oppression and exorcism from his priestly ministry.
The basic story
Fr. Chad Ripperger is a Catholic priest and exorcist serving in the Archdiocese of Denver whose public interviews, books, and lecture archive document a large online record of exorcism and deliverance testimony.
Historical setting
This file belongs to the modern Catholic exorcism revival in the United States, where public talks and interviews by appointed priests form most of the accessible record.

The core public claim
Section titled “The core public claim”Fr. Chad Ripperger is publicly identified by Our Sorrowful Mother’s Ministry as a Roman Catholic priest, theologian, philosopher, and exorcist serving in the Archdiocese of Denver and as the founder and superior general of the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother (the Doloran Fathers). The same official bio says he founded the community in 2012, served in exorcism work in Tulsa from 2012 to 2016, and then continued the ministry in Colorado.[1]
The Doloran Fathers’ own site presents the community as one that works with people in severe spiritual need and directs inquiries about diabolic influence through that apostolate.[2] In plainer terms, the public claim here is not about one named miracle case. It is that Ripperger is a real, publicly identified exorcist whose ministry produces a large stream of public teaching and anecdotes about exorcism and deliverance.
Ripperger file
- Identity Named priest and founder The public file begins with Denver ministry and the Doloran Fathers community.
- Role Exorcism ministry His own community openly directs severe spiritual-distress inquiries through the apostolate.
- Public trail Talks and anecdotes Most case material survives as his own public teaching rather than as released diocesan files.
Primary-source file
Section titled “Primary-source file”The official event page gives the clearest public biography: Denver exorcist, founder of the Doloran Fathers, and former Tulsa ministry timeline.
osmm.org Official community Doloran Fathers mission and contact pagesThe community site explains its work with people reporting severe spiritual distress and sends diabolic-influence inquiries through the apostolate.
dolorans.org Official archive Sensus Traditionis lecture archiveThe archive preserves a large body of talks under his own name and directs case inquiries to the Doloran Fathers.
sensustraditionis.orgPublicly documented chronology
Section titled “Publicly documented chronology”Public interview record
Section titled “Public interview record”Ripperger is not known mainly through one single named exorcism file. He is known through a large public ministry record:
- long-form interviews
- conference talks
- books and prayer manuals
- the Sensus Traditionis lecture archive under his name[3]
His public record includes repeated talks and interviews about exorcism, deliverance, discernment, and spiritual warfare.[3] [4] [5] So the evidence here is mostly public speech and ministry activity, not released diocesan case records.
Publicly attributed claims and stories
Section titled “Publicly attributed claims and stories”The public material most often circulated under his name includes both general teaching and a smaller number of vivid stories.
In 2022, the National Catholic Register highlighted a viral Chris Stefanick interview clip in which Ripperger described a confrontation with what he called an especially obstinate demon and said demons are “on a short leash” and can do only what Christ permits.[4] The same Register piece says he described a “full-blown preternatural manifestation” in that encounter.[4]
In the more recent A Reason for Hope interview summary from December 2025, his public teaching is presented less as a sequence of dramatic cases and more as a framework for discernment:
- not all interior suffering is demonic
- spiritual and psychological affliction need to be distinguished carefully
- grace, sacraments, virtue, and discernment remain central[5]
The cited interview record includes both dramatic confrontation stories and instructional material on prayer, confession, family Rosary, sacramental life, and discernment.[4] [5] That mix is important because it shows that his public presence is not only “here is a scary case.” It is also “here is how Catholics should think about spiritual danger in everyday life.”
What is publicly documented
Section titled “What is publicly documented”This page is not built around one released diocesan case file. What is public is:
- his name, office, and community[1][2]
- a large lecture and interview record under his own name[3][4][5]
- repeated public claims about specific kinds of preternatural manifestations and about the ordinary spiritual means Catholics should use in response[4][5]
What generally remains private are the underlying diocesan files, names of afflicted persons, and case documentation behind many of the anecdotes.
